About Victoria Danzig

Victoria Danzig L.C.S.W.
Victoria Danzig, L.C.S.W., helps clients overcome self-sabotaging behaviors and address the negative beliefs which block their best intentions.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in La Jolla, CA, Victoria has been a therapist for 46 years and in private practice since 1985 working extensively with clients who suffer from traumatic experiences and addictions.
Victoria’s clinical work is informed by decades of advanced training in both traditional and integrative therapeutic approaches. She completed a year-long Certificate Program in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies, followed by comprehensive MDMA Therapy Training (100 hours, Parts A–D). Earlier in her career, she trained extensively in Advanced Integrative Therapy under Dr. Asha Clinton, earning certification and later becoming a Master Teacher. Her foundation also includes specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Thought Field Therapy diagnostics, and Gestalt therapy at the Gestalt Training Center with Drs. Erv and Miriam Polster. In addition, Victoria was ordained as a “Spiritual Psychotherapist,” reflecting her longstanding commitment to addressing the emotional, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of healing.
In addition to her clinical work, Victoria has been deeply engaged in education, leadership, and community service. From 2005 to 2017, she served as a faculty course instructor at the California Institute of Human Science, where she had the privilege of teaching Advanced Integrative Therapy to psychotherapists and graduate students. Prior to her AIT experience, Victoria trained directly with Dr. Roger Callahan in Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and taught over 500 other health professionals on its applications at her Thought Field Therapy Training Center in La Jolla. She also contributed to broader community impact through my service on the San Diego Women’s Foundation Education Committee from 2010 to 2016. Earlier, Victoria founded the San Diego Foundation for Change, an organization created to bring philanthropic resources to emerging leaders and organizations in the San Diego/Tijuana region working for social justice and human rights.
Victoria is a member of the American Academy of Psychotherapists, a community dedicated to advancing excellence, integrity, and innovation in the field of psychotherapy. This membership reflects her ongoing commitment to professional growth, ethical practice, and staying engaged with evolving perspectives in therapeutic care.
Victoria’s work has been recognized over the years by professional organizations, community institutions, and local governments for its impact in clinical practice, social justice, and community building. These honors include being named Clinical Social Worker of the Year by the Society for Clinical Social Work in San Diego, receiving the Philanthropy Award from the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology, and multiple commendations from the City Council of San Diego for contributions to community advocacy and nonprofit leadership. In 2008, the Foundation for Change honored its roots and vision by establishing both a Founder Award and a city-recognized Foundation for Change Day. Earlier recognitions include a special commendation from the Liberty Hill Foundation and a formal resolution from the Mono County Board of Supervisors acknowledging my service in public mental health and substance use treatment. Together, these awards reflect a long-standing commitment to compassionate care, social responsibility, and lasting community impact.
Victoria regularly shares her work through workshops and professional presentations, both nationally and within the local community, with a focus on emotionally informed, ethically grounded, and integrative approaches to healing. She has presented multiple times with the American Academy of Psychotherapists on topics including aging and ambiguous loss, ethical considerations around client interest in psychedelic use, and working with subtle and unspoken therapeutic dynamics. Her teachings also include long-term involvement as a co-trainer in Advanced Integrative Therapy at the California Institute for Human Science, where she taught annually for over a decade. In addition, Victoria has co-presented community-based programs on emotional resilience during times of collective stress. Across these settings, her presentations emphasize practical clinical insight, depth-oriented awareness, and supportive tools clinicians and individuals can use in complex, real-world contexts.
