My approach to counseling is an interactive therapy which can help you begin to access that important mind/body connection. This approach will give you the tools you need to begin to have a deeper understanding of yourself and will allow you to move forward toward a more fulfilling and happy life.
Entering through the door you will be welcomed and offered a cup of tea. The peaceful office atmosphere is is conducive to feeling safe and nurtured while unpacking and releasing emotional baggage that has bogged you down in moving forward confidently. It is time to recognize the self defeating behaviors and revitalize your dreams.
With compassion, understanding and presence, we will work together in reclaiming the parts of your spirit that are hurting. The old wounds will have light shed upon them, allowing transformation and healing to take place. The therapeutic relationship is both supportive and collaborative while examining thoughts, patterns and events that are emotionally charged, outdated or damaging, moving from struggle to surrender to self realization.
All therapy is trauma therapy in that most clients come for help after experiencing some sort of loss or difficult experience. While addressing current issues, many times earlier traumatic experiences will be uncovered; exploring the past allows healing in the present. I have extensive experience and training in psycho-dynamic talk therapy and mind/body tools (AIT, TFT and EMDR). I have found that integrating these skills provides an effective whole-person approach to healing emotional pain. Therapy as a process can lead to our worst feelings transmuted into spiritual power and wisdom.
